So just recently I had a dream about NYC crashing down around me. Not pleasant. Only a few nights later, this....
I was traveling towards the Golden Gate bridge with my mom on our way into San Francisco. We were on a "bus." Felt more like a train, but we were about to drive over the bridge, so it couldn't be a train. As we were arriving on the bridge, I had a premonition that the bridge was going to collapse. I don't know why, but I decided to look out the window ahead to check. All of a sudden, a gigantic earthquake happened which made the bridge start collapsing in the middle. For some reason our bus couldn't stop driving towards it. We were headed for the center, and started falling through. We saw cars, parts of the bridge (which parts were made of cement blocks), falling all around us, and we were headed towards our death. I held my mom really close, and realized I had just enough time to whisper "I love you" before we hit.
Once we hit, I realized I had survived and my Mother didn't. I don't know how I even survived.
That is the end of that dream. What an awful dream.
Meaning?? Well let's hope these aren't premonitions!! But every time I have ever driven over a bridge (freeway bridge or over water), I have this slight fear that at that moment, a large earthquake will happen and take me down with it. I literally always have that momentary thought when driving over a bridge. It sucks. But it's happened to people! So I'm sure that was a deep subconcious fear rising up through my dream. And then of course the fear of losing my Mother as I get older. So there you go.
Ever since I was little, my dreams have always been very intricate, weird and twisted. This is my journey through my own personal dream world, of stories never imagined without that parallel world of what goes on behind closed eyes...

Getting Shot in Germany....Hmmm...
So many different events happened in this dream it's very hard to keep track. But here's the gist of it...
I went back to be a camp counselor. My campers were really rude! I even yelled at a girl for being so rude and telling her next time she's going to see the director when she acts like that. While I was at camp, I received a letter (which someone opened and read before I did, errr). This letter was from the US Government inviting me to be a Sergeant in the military and leave for Germany ASAP. So I did! All of a sudden I'm in a Marching line with men and women (I'm assuming this is "boot camp") and receiving orders. Moments later I'm holding an assault rifle / machine gun, hiding in a bush, and shooting at multiple targets. I miss each and every target, and I'm just firing at will. It's obvious I am not a good marksman. I literally was just shooting everywhere to see if I'd hit something. All of a sudden I was shot in a fatal place. I blacked out immediately thinking I had died. Then I woke up in a hospital room, knowing I had been in a coma for a while. When I stood up, I couldn't keep standing. I needed to hold on to a counter top. Then I realized my mouth was full of gauze and wires (almost like all the wires that should be connected to my body were inside my mouth). It was strange, but apparently normal. Even another man in the hospital told me to keep the gauze in between my teeth for protection. Seemed legit.
That is the gist of my dream. It hopped from being a camp counselor, being the worst Sergeant in the world, to being shot and in the hospital.
Meaning?? Well, I'm headed off to the Philippines next week to do a job I've never done - TRAINING. I'll be in charge of people. So I believe this dream is directly related to my anxieties of a new country (i.e. Germany in the dream) and a "new" career (i.e. Sergeant - a leadership position). All the stress and anxiety is tiring me out, so the coma in the dream probably signifies my need/want for rest. I think that sounds about right. :)

Starbucks
Most of the dream is blurry, but one part I do remember. I was in the airport with a Soy Pumpkin Spice Latte in my hand. I had taken a few sips and decided it wasn't hot enough. I see the Starbucks in the airport and go in. All I ask the barista is if they could heat my Soy PSL up for me. He then grabs my drink, see that it is full, and proceeds to say "we'll make you a new one" and gives my old drink to the man who ordered one in the drive thru. Um, OKAY? The poor man in the drive thru had no idea. Then the barista made me a new one, but forgot I wanted soy. Errr. So he had to make me ANOTHER one. The other barista asked if I wanted food, so at that point I decided "oh sure!" So I ordered a tuna salad. They were taking FOREVER! My family decided to go through security without me because I was in Starbucks for way too long, and they just wouldn't give me my drink or my food. I ended up getting a refund on the salad since they just wouldn't give it to me, and I don't recall ever getting my drink.
Now I am subconsciously mad at Starbucks. Thanks a lot Starbucks.

NYC Crumbling down...
It started off an a small adventure - a blurry small adventure. I can't remember the details of what I was doing (except I did try to make it to a play in an underground theater, but wasn't allowed in - I think I was too late)...I was wandered around the city. Later in the dream, I had lost my purse, so I retraced my steps. I finally found it in a park, and met a friend there. At that moment, we looked up and saw a wall of black, powerful smoke coming our way, shattering buildings and windows in it's path. We ran. The smoke never hit us, but then the ground cracked open and split. I saw people falling through, and it looked never ending. Me and my friend were dangling along the side, hanging on to the edge. I saw him crawl up on his own, and then he reached over to grab my hand. I had to swing my other arm over to grab his other hand (which for some reason I was not scared to do). Then another guy came running over wanting to save me, and the two guys were fighting for my hand!! I looked at them with an angry face and said DON"T YOU DARE DROP ME!
At this point, I don't remember anything else.
The creepy part? Looking back at my facebook posts, I saw that I had almost the same exact dream 2 years ago the same day. NYC was crumbling down around me (I don't believe the ground split in two the last time - so if this dream were to come to pass, it looks like I just got another piece of the puzzle). Let's hope this is just a dream.
